How we choose our games
A useful recommendation explains who a game suits, what it asks of the player and where another option may work better. Our guides are researched editorial selections rather than a claim that every game has been personally tested.
What makes the shortlist
We compare the core experience, accessibility of the starting point, platform or edition differences, and practical drawbacks. A game can be excellent without being the best choice for a particular reader. Lists are deliberately selective; their order is not a numerical review score.
Research and sources
Publisher pages, platform support documentation and official storefronts support factual details. Other editorial roundups help us understand common questions and compare coverage. Relevant sources are linked beside each guide. We do not invent hands-on testing, play-time measurements, performance benchmarks or review scores.
Availability and updates
Subscriptions, online services, store listings and regional versions change. Check the publisher or store before buying, especially for older hardware. Subscription selections are dated snapshots rather than promises of permanent inclusion.
Illustrations and comparisons
Original editorial illustrations communicate the theme of a guide and are labelled as illustrations. They are not screenshots or evidence of a particular game’s graphics. Comparison graphics summarize qualitative advice, without invented ratings.
